padStanding Up To Preach
By Alan Walker

Australian Sir Alan Walker was the first World Director of World Evangelism and a renowned worldwide evangelistic preacher in the Wesleyan/Methodist tradition. This book outlines his understanding of the role, theology, and methodology of evangelistic preaching in the modern world.

For twnty-one years, the late Sir Alan Walker carried on a notable ministry at the Central Methodist Mission, now Wesley Central Mission, in Sydney, Australia. He led the Australian "Mission to the Nation" from 1953 to 1956 and has led evangelistic missions in over sixty countries. He was the first foreign Christian to be permitted to conduct an evangelistic mission in the former Soviet Russia. In addition to preaching and directing World Methodist Evangelism, he produced thirty-three books on evangelism and Biblical subjects. When he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II "for services to religion," he said, "I prefer still to be known by the sufficient title of Reverend Alan Walker. For a Christian there can be no greater title than that of a minister."
